VISION

In 1925, Helen Keller challenged Lions to become Knights of the Blind, to help put an end to preventable blindness worldwide.

Vision Screening

The Woolwich Community Lions are responsible for providing vision screening in 26 Public Schools each year in Waterloo.  We screen approximately 1,000 junior and senior kindergarten students annually.  These test often result in students being advised to see an optometrist for complete eye exams.

Eyeglass Recycling

The Woolwich Community Lions Club also collects used eyeglasses, which are shipped to third world countries to be distributed among those in need of vision correction.  Last year we shipped 1,768 pairs of eyeglasses.
